Please remember, when uploading your assignments into moodle, these need to be in a MSword format, therefore if you use any other word processing program (i.e Pages, Openofficetext or Google Docs) you must export you document into to MSword before uploading it.

FAQ: I have submitted, but have not received an email confirmation?

You should receive an email confirmation within 30 minutes of your submission. If you have not received it, check the following:

  • Check your spam/junk box in case the email is in it.
  • Go into your assignment submission area and check that your assignment is not in draft mode. If you see that your assignments is in “draft” mode, you have uploaded your document without submitting it.  You need to go back into the assignment area and click ‘Submit assignment’ making sure that you save all the changes along the way.

  • Have you change your email since you have started your course?

If it is none of the above please email us at moodlehelp@montessori.org.uk so that we can investigate further.

FAQ:I have submitted in the wrong format (pdf, pages, zip), what shall I do?

We are unable to accept pdf/zip files, so you will have to submit your work again as a MSword document, because PDFs, pages and  zip files will not be readable. Please do not email your tutor, email us at: moodlehelp@montessori.org.uk  ensuring that you provide this information, as well as the assignment name, to help resolving your query quickly and efficiently.

The support team will revert your submission into draft mode and will let you know.

Please do the following to submit again:

  1. Go into your assignment area, click on the assignment, then click edit submission (Step 1) and delete the old document (Step 2).
  2. Once the old document has been deleted you can upload your new document in its place, making sure you save all the changes and click on all submit buttons along the way. Please let us know if you require further assistance.
  3. Make sure that you receive a confirmation email (within 30 minutes), to confirm your submission.

FAQ: I have submitted in the wrong Level, what shall I do?

If you have made your submission into the wrong Level – you will just have to submit again into the correct level.

To be sure not to miss your Level again, access your assignment at the bottom of the Unit. Click the correct level, for example “Level 4 Assignment 1A SUBMIT HERE” and submit your work as you done previously. Making sure you save all the changes and click on all submit buttons along the way.

FAQ: How to convert a Pages (.pages) document into Microsoft word?

If you are a Mac user and use Pages as your word processing program,  you may encounter problems to the extent that some elements of Pages are not compatible with Microsoft word. Before uploading your assignments into  moodle, you must export a Pages document as a Word format.  Click here to find out  how to do this, or you may wish to watch this short video instead. Click here  if you wish to learn more about compatibility between Pages and MS word.

Moodle: How to find and submit an Assessed Test?

 

blog1This icon represents an Assessed Test in your moodle course.In some of your Units you will have to complete a short online Assessed Test as part of your assessment. This will test your overall understanding of that Unit and help you consolidate your knowledge. For the purposes of this guide, we will use the Montessori Philosophy assessed test 2B as an example.

FAQ: Why is my first assignment ‘restricted’?

Before having access to your first assignment for each Unit, you will have to complete a short Unit Evaluation Survey. This questionnaire is to help us find out about your experience and views of the unit, to help us monitor quality and to inform us to make any changes or improvements. All data will be collected anonymously.

  1. Go into the Unit and scroll all the way down the page to the last session of the Unit: ‘Review and Assessment’.
  2. Click the ‘Unit Evaluation Survey’ link (Img.1).
  3. This will take you to a new webpage to complete your survey (Img.2). Ensure that you answer all the questions.
  4. Once you have completed the survey, close the survey webpage and return to your Unit’s page. Refresh your browser and you should see a ‘tick’ against the Unit survey (Img.3). You are now able to submit your assignment.

Moodle: How to find and submit an Assignment

During your studies, you will be submitting your assignments and getting feedback online. Ensure that you read and understand each of the following essentials points:

  • Before you can submit your first assignment for each Unit, you must complete that Unit’s Evaluation Survey. Until you have completed this survey, the assignment will remain locked. For example, when submitting your first assignment for Creativity, you will have to complete the Creativity Unit 11 Unit Evaluation Survey.   •  Your assignments need to be  in a MSword format, before you upload them into moodle. Therefore if you use any other word processing program (i.e Pages, Open Office Text or Google Docs) you must export you document into to MSword.
  • When you submit any assignment to Moodle, you must ensure that the document’s filename adheres to the MCI naming convention:                    student number (5….) + surname + assignment title. For example Alan Hain’s (student number 50012) Philosophy assignment 2A, would have the following filename:

50012HainPhilosophy2A

  • Make sure you receive an email confirmation that you have submitted your assignment. This email is your receipt of submission.
  • Please remember that you must keep a  copy of your all your submissions until you have received a final grade for your course, as you may be required to produce your submission again after the assignment date.
